Heaven, the place I want to go,
Never, O never, to that place down below;
Where all the people of God will one day dwell,
Far from the torments of hell.

That heaven may one day be my home,
I will only with the faithful roam.
All of God's commands I will ever obey,
And in the ways of evil never stray.

Heaven, a place where is no night,
Only the brightness of God's eternal light.
Tears, death, sorrow and pain are all passed away,
These shall never more on God's people prey.

The glory of the city about God's throne,
Is described in terms of gold, crystal, jasper and precious stone.
If in the Lamb's Book of Life we are enrolled,
We may one day tread its streets of gold.
