      4. There are seven verses of Scripture that will help us better understand God's divine ability.
  2. DISCUSSION:
    1. GOD IS ABLE TO DO MORE THAT WE CAN ASK OR THINK --
Eph 3:20-21 = "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,"
Comment: Remember what Solomon asked of God and what did?
1 Kings 3:3-14 = "And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places. And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in. And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days."
    2. GOD IS ABLE TO MAKE ALL GRACE ABOUND UNTO US:
2 Cor 9:8 = "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:"
    3. GOD IS ABLE TO SUCCOR THEM THAT ARE TEMPTED:
Heb 2:18 = "For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted."
Note: The Greek word for succor is boetheo pronounced (bo-ay-theh'-o); Meaning to aid or relieve; and is translated: help or succor.
    4. GOD IS ABLE TO SAVE TO THE UTTERMOST:
Heb 7:25 = "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."
    5. GOD IS ABLE TO GUARD YOUR SOUL:
2 Tim 1:12 = "For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day."
    6. GOD IS ABLE TO CHANGE YOUR BODY:
Phil 3:21 = "Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself."
    7. GOD IS ABLE TO SET US BEFORE THE PRESENCE OF HIS GLORY:
Jude 24 = "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,"
  3. CONCLUSION:
    1. BEING WISE -- GOD KNOWS OUR NEEDS AND HOW TO SUPPLY THEM.
    2. BEING POWERFUL -- GOD IS ABLE TO SUPPLY OUR NEEDS.
    3. LET US LOOK ONCE MORE AT OUR OPENING TEXT:
