GODS LAW
- THE LAW IS PERFECT:
Psalms
19:7-8 = "The law of the Lord is perfect, converting
the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment
of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes."
- BUT WHICH LAW TWO HAVE BEEN
GIVEN FROM GOD?
- THE LAW OF MOSES IS ABOLISHED.
Ephesians
2:15 = "Having abolished in his flesh the
enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances;
for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;"
Colossians
2:14 = "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances
that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out
of the way, nailing it to his cross:"
(Read Hebrews
8:6-13).
- LAW THROUGH CHRIST ESTABLISHED:
Hebrews
10:9 = "He taketh away the first, that he
may establish the second."
- God now speaks through no one but
His Son.
Hebrews
1:1-2 = "God, who at sundry times and in
divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the
prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son,
whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also hd
made the worlds;"
- This second law has been designated
the perfect law of liberty.
James
1:25 = "But whoso looketh into the perfect
law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful
hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed
in his deed."
- Paul exhorted the Galatian Christians
to "stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith
Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with
the yoke of bondage." = Galatians
5:1.
- The law (or gospel) given by Christ,
Paul say Romans
1:16 = "
Is the power of God unto
salvation to everyone that believeth;
"
- This is the law that God gave to
man through Christ. Christ said while praying to His Father
John
17:14 = "I have given them thy word;
"
And then in John
17:17, said = "Sanctify them through thy
truth: thy word is truth."
- THE LAW THAT CAME THROUGH CHRIST MEETS
THE NEEDS OF MAN:
- If it is a law that came by some
else it will not meet the needs of man.
II
Timothy 3:16-17 = ""All scripture
is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto
all good works.
- Only the law through Christ has divine
power.
II
Peter 1:3 = "According as his divine power
hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness,
through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and
virtue:"
- THE LAW WILL BE POWERLESS IF WE DO
NOT USE IT LAWFULLY:
- The correct use age of the law is
necessary, listen to what Paul wrote in
I
Timothy 1:3-8 = "As I besought thee to
abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that
thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine;
neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which
minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in
faith: so do. Now he end of the commandment is charity out
of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain
jangling; desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding
neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. But we know
that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;"
- The Word (or Law) must be rightly
divided.
II
Timothy 2:15 = "Study to shew thyself approved
unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly
dividing the word of truth."
- One day each of us will have to answer
this question: "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord,
and do not the things which I say?" = (Luke
6:46).
- It matters not whom proclaims anything
else, they will be accursed..
- Galatians
1:8-9 = "But though we, or an angel from
heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we
have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before,
so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto
you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."
- GODS LAW MUST BE STRICTLY FOLLOWED:
- The authority that lets us
bypass a single point, opens the door to bypass any other
point and thus is guilty of breaking all of Gods laws.
James
2:10 = "For whosoever shall keep the hole
law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
- Gods law through Christ will
be the standard of judgment.
John
12:48-50 = "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth
not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have
spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have
not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave
me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever
I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak."
COMMENT: Let us then be cautious
not to follow our own lusts, heaping to ourselves "
teachers,
having itching ears " (II
Timothy 4:3).
