If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: [15] But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. [28] Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. [29] Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. [30] Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; [31] He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. NOTE:

1. Jesus himself realized that in his death he was fulfilling the Scripture

Matthew 26:54-56 = "But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? [55] In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me. [56] But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled."

2. The complete story of the life of Christ was told hundreds of years before he was born. This leads us to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God and that the Testaments, Old and New, are God’s verbally inspired immovable, perfect word, a lamp to our feet, and a light to our

Pathway (Psalms 119:105).

3. Christ is now crowned Lord of Lords and King of Kings (Revelation 17:14; Revelation19:16). He is seated on David’s throne "and there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed" (Daniel 7:14).
